Is it possible to translate this theme in an other language ?

    • Posted January 14, 2010 at 1:19 pm | Permalink

Yes. The theme is completely localized. It comes with the .po and .mo English files so you can use those to generate another translation based on it.

If you need help with this don’t hesitate to ask.

Nice theme, I was wondering does it need Thematic theme to run?

    • Posted January 15, 2010 at 2:58 pm | Permalink

No. This is a stand alone theme. However the HTML structure behind it is very similar with Thematic so you get the same SEO friendly structure. :)

excellent thanks. You should make that clearer in your text as it sounds a bit like it is a child theme. Plus mentioning the seo benefits is good too :)

    Great theme!!!
    What limitations have the license?
If I buy the theme and modified it… can I sell it with another name or brand?

    • Posted March 11, 2010 at 2:56 pm | Permalink

The theme is GPL. This means you can modify it, resell it or do whatever you want to it as long as you keep the license and the credits intact :) . I’m no legal expert but that’s pretty much it!

I want to buy this theme but I have a question : what version of Photoshop do you use for saving the pdf file ? Is it compatible with Photoshop CS2 ?

    • Posted February 15, 2011 at 9:29 am | Permalink

      Hi Marc,

The theme was designed using Photoshop CS3 but if I remember correctly I did save it to be backwards compatible.

If you have any problems with the psd file please contact me and I’ll send one so you can open it with CS2

I’ve already bought this theme and I noticed you’ve released the new Smarter 2.0 theme. You’ve made a list on all its new feature, and I was wondering if are there also stuffs in this version that isn’t on the new one? If I have already purchased this, would it be a lot better if I upgraded to the new Smarter theme?

    • Posted April 19, 2011 at 7:40 am | Permalink

If you’re using it already on a site and it’s getting the job done then no, you should not update. Also you’ll have to re-setup your site to work with the new theme.

  17. Posted April 27, 2011 at 10:38 am | Permalink

I see the heme is released under GPL and has unlimited licence, but not sure if that gives us rights to make any mods to the code. Reason I ask is that we may need to make a few minor changes to accomodate our dev policies.
    Thanks

You can make any change you want to the theme. You don’t even have to keep the Powered by Smarter link in the footer.
